The Internet is not a fad
Wow, 2011 is here already!
Now we have cell phones that can take pictures, send text messages,
and access the Internet like mini computers. Though there are still
some people that resist this “new-fangled” technology,
the majority of us are keeping up with it.
CHAA is keeping up with it too. Scott Roberts has developed an
amazing website for CHAA, full of information, pictures, stories,
letters, and contacts. The importan dates for the year are updated
as well, so you can find out when all our events are scheduled.
The Web Address is: www.CampHaleAlumni.org.
It’s not just a site for reminiscing or looking at pictures,
though. Now, you can also pay your dues or make donations via the
website as well. The payments are secure through PayPal, so there’s
no
worry. Check it out the next time you’re surfing the web.
For the more business oriented Alumni, Aaron has set up a CHAA
page on the LinkedIn network. See his
article for more details.
Another great social site many of us use is FaceBook,
which has become the world’s largest social network with over
600,000,000 active users. I recently set up a CHAA
Group on FaceBook that you
can join and get email notifications from the other members, as
well as chat with them, and post photos, videos, events, and comments.
CHAA has set up an informational FaceBook
page as well.
Just go to FaceBook.com
and search for Camp Hale Alumni. In my opinion, there’s nothing
better than face-to-face contact with your old friends. But, I think
FaceBook is a close second. I got back in touch with a cabin-mate
from 1978 that I hadn’t seen since, and that meant the world
to me. And by the way, it’s free
